3D Business Cards - Tutorial
METHOD #1 - Our Card Templates
- When on the “Our Card Templates” page you will see a selection of business card images. Using the “Select Category” dropdown, select the category that best describes the theme of the card you desire and press “Go To”. A new selection of business card images will appear. After picking the desired image from the card selection, click on the image. This will open the bigger version of the same picture that you can add text to.
- Underneath the animation there are 15 text font box choices, click the red words “Edit Line 1”. A blank text line will appear where you type in your information. Choose a colour, type and size of font.
- Push the preview button (or “Enter”) and the desired text will appear on the card. Follow these tips for best results,
Too High or Too Low?
If it is too high move to the next line down by clicking the red words “Edit Line #”.
ie. If line 1 is too high, copy the information from line 1 to line 2. Note: if line 2 is too high, continue to move your text to lower lines until it appears at the right height on the card.
Conversely if your text is too low, move to the next line up accordingly.
Too Far to the Left or Right?
Move text to the right or left using the space bar and backspace keys to control the gap from the edge of the card and between letters/words.
Too Big or Too Small?
To increase or decrease the font size, edit the number in the font size text box that represents a point value.
Can’t See Text or Wrong Colour?
Select the colour of text from the dropdown list, and try a different colour that has more contrast than the background.
- Once you are happy with the size, colour, type and location of line 1 on the card, move to the next line down and continue your typing and previewing. If your text was so big to cover more than one line continue to the next line down that will accept text. If you want a blank area just skip the line to a lower line.
Saving Your Work:
If you would like to save your progress, scroll to the bottom of the page and fill your name and email into the “Save Your Design Progress to Continue Later” form. You will receive an email with information about how to save your progress info, print a picture of your card, and how to continue working on your business card.
Add Text to Card Back:
If you need back printing, scroll to the bottom and click the “Put Text on Back of Card” button. The “back animation text template” will appear, and you can type as before until the back is the way you like it. Note that the only colour on the back is black. When complete fill your name and email into the “Ready to Order?” form and push “Place Order” button. An additional $20 is charged for back printing.
Order Finished Card:
Eventually, you will have completed all the text that you want on your card. Fill your name and email into the “Ready to Order?” form and push “Place Order”. You will receive an acknowledgement that your request has been sent in, and within the next few days one of our representatives will contact you to confirm your order.
- Extra Service:
If you want a logo or custom design to be put on the front or back of the card, Write in text “Logo here”. We will contact you once we’ve received your order and request a low compression (good quality) jpg picture of the logo or design and we will place it where desired. The front can take full colour designs and the back can take black designs only. There is a $25 charge for the design insertion.
- Tip:
Don’t clutter up the animation with too much text on it. It’s better to put extra info on the back and keep the animation relatively clean. Use contrasting colours so that the text stands out.
- Note:
Once a card is designed there is only reprinting costs after that for future orders.
